Concept:
West Marine needed a new brand that represented an environmentally friendly family of products. Cleaning and other chemical items were reformulated to be earth friendly and still do the job intended. The design would reflect this and stand out on the shelves, being clearly recognizable as an alternative to existing products.
Scope of Work:
The eco-friendly design works in a variety of label sizes and shapes. Plus it crosses a variety of products – from cleaners to oil to paint. We designed the new Pure Oceans logo to include a whale’s tail – an international symbol of concern for the oceans and the planet. We layered that with an ocean scene and included green product names to reinforce the “green” movement concept.

An eye-popping label was needed that spoke to the energy blast this new caffeine product provides. Blast Caffeine targets the health & energy drink market and
has to draw attention in a busy shopping area where products compete for
consumer attention.
Scope of Work:
Using the name as inspiration, we created an image where there’s a visual blast and strong type that stands out against the background. The bottle contrasts with the black background, yet pulls your eye back to the orange of the blast and reinforces the energy concept.
A backing blister card was created to give the product more display space to tell the story, benefits and features.

The Santa Cruz Triathlon Association needed a fresh look to their team clothing. Members wanted something that clearly identified who they were affiliated with by looking at them from a distance, as if in a race. The design also had to incorporate their sponsor logos. Overall, they wanted a design that was exciting and said “Santa Cruz” to them.
Scope of Work:
We incorporated the Santa Cruz Wharf image as a monotone on the front of the cycling jersey, which would also apply to tri tanks and all-in-one’s. On the back of the jersey we played on the SCTA logo – of racing like your hair’s on fire, and used an explosion image that would also make sponsor logos pop easier from the background.
The shorts were simple and clearly identified the team name on each thigh and across the panel on the low back.

This ordinary product needed a jump in packaging design to make it pop on the shelf.
It also needed to relate to the personal water craft vehicles it supports. In addition, the product needed to have a high end look to help raise the perception of quality
and value.
Scope of Work:
The product was being packaged in a box. This allowed us to give it some pizzazz by adding in lifestyle shots of people using PWCs like Sea Doos, WaveRunners, and Jet Skis. We were able to reinforce the private label brand of West Marine by colorizing the images in the brand blue which not only added a cohesive look, it also added that
“rich” factor.

The idea behind this business was creating the best pet experience possible. The business name also lent itself to the idea of a pet’s favorite friend, the Fairy DogMother. We felt creating a cartoon image would evoke the memory of a good kid’s book and the warm fuzzy feeling of having someone trusted, friendly and loving at your side.
Scope of Work:
The typeface chosen gives a sense of authority and trust, plus some flair. It complements the cartoon image well. The hand-drawn image started as a black and white drawing and then was brought into Photoshop and Illustrator to add color. In this way we could play with the effects without hindering the integrity of the original drawing.

An independent contractor, Dan Garcia needed a design that represented his quality of craftsmanship and use of traditional techniques in a modern world.
Scope of Work:
We made use of photos Dan provided to show his work and hand drew an image that represented his craftsmanship and would also be easily reproducible in other formats – ads, letterhead, invoices, etc.

We created a new site to showcase a recently acquired collection of antique lace. The site was to be elegant with plenty of lacey “eye-candy” for viewers to enjoy and to purchase. This site functioned as a catalog, featuring some of the collection. Visitors could purchase items by contacting Jennifer directly through email or calling, as she preferred at the time.
Scope of Work:
Since we wanted the site to be simple and elegant, we chose a black and white theme. We photographed and/or scanned all the lace to be shown on the site, choosing one for the main logo used at the entry page and in the navigation panel. There are 7 pages in total with a few sub-pages in a couple of the lace categories.

Concept:
We redesigned the website to brighten up the look, give it a more welcoming feel and make it easier for customers to see the content without confusion. The ultimate goal of the new site was to create a community of enthusiastic runners who would come to Fleet Feet for their running needs and as a resource for local sporting events.
Scope of Project:
The site was simplified and improved by:
- Having a faster loading speed
- Optimizing for search engines, particularly for local searches (vs. the corporate global set up)
- Deleting the Flash code in the banner
- Writing new keyword rich copy
- Re-organizing the content thereby reducing the number of pages needed
- Adding the contact info into the navigation so it would be on all pages

The client needed to represent his product bundle on his website even though a physical version did not exist yet. This allowed the client to start promoting his product to encourage sales first and then follow up with the physical product, as needed, later.
Scope of Project:
This is a bundle pack product consisting of a binder and 5 DVDs. The client needed a cover designed to follow what was already produced in the website. The DVDs remained consistent in design to match the binder cover. Internet and print-ready files were created.

We transformed Seagate’s existing style and feel of their President’s Club program to one of high-end luxury and elegance – keeping a consistent theme for each travel destination. This reward program for their highest earning sales representatives created more incentive to produce more sales.
Our new designs contributed to the reps eagerly competing to participate in the event each year. Many participants’ spouses/guests saved the program materials as part of their memory scrapbooks to share with family and friends after the trips.
The design of the packets not only reflected the destination theme and highlighted the trip’s events, but also fell within the annual budget for the event. Choices in materials, printing, and design were made to keep the richness and stay within budget and timelines.
Scope of Project:
This is the first in a series of Presidents Club events for Seagate. The destination was South Africa and the printed materials consisted of a large folder that held various letters and information given to attendees for the trip. A smaller folder held award information and also the main event invitation and dining menu. Included was a travel packet for specific side trips which consisted of a boarding pass and ticket folder. A business card size “z-fold” info card gave the itinerary, which was easy to put in a wallet, purse or pocket.
